Remember, Camp Promise-East will be August 18-24th, with volunteers arriving on August 17th for training.

Drumroll, please...

Camp Promise-East will take place at Easter Seals Camp Hemlocks in Hebron, CT, from Sunday, August 18th to Saturday, August 24th.

Volunteers will arrive on Saturday, August 17 at for a full day of training, unpacking, and getting ready for the campers. 

Campers will arrive the morning of Sunday, August 18th, and will be at camp through the morning of Saturday, August 24th. Volunteers will be dismissed once camp is clean.

Applications will be up by the end of February, so be sure to check back and keep an eye on your email for the application and deadlines.

It is with a heavy heart that Camp Promise-West says goodbye to a member of our family, Ricky. Camp (and especially the ladies of camp) will not be the same without his charm and creativity. Our thoughts are with his family and everyone who was close to Ricky, especially his cabin and all the members of Team Ricky.

We thank Ricky's family not only for all of their support of Camp Promise over the years, but their request for remembrances to be sent to Camp Promise. If you would like to make a donation in honor of Ricky, please click here. A card will be sent to Ricky's family letting them know a donation has been made on his behalf. This year, we're excited to announce a new structure for Camp Promise-West dates. 

Volunteers will arrive on Saturday, August 3 at Camp Stand By Me for a full day of training, unpacking, and getting ready for the campers. (We know you'll miss training at the fire station as much as we will, but this will give us more time for settling in.)

Campers will arrive the morning of Sunday, August 4, and will be at camp through the morning of Friday, August 9. 

Volunteers will have a thank-you lunch with a chance to debrief about the week, followed by cleanup and volunteer dismissal at 5pm.

While this new schedule does mean camp is a day shorter than it has been in previous years, this schedule allows us to take all of the amazing things we've learned from the last four summers of camp and condense them into a schedule that will leave campers, volunteers, and staff more energized at the end of the week.

Since 1984, Barbara Cordes—known as Ms. Barbara to her more than 10,000 students—has been raising money for children with neuromuscular disorders. Over the years, she and her thousands of Buttons & Bows preschool students have raised more than $200,000 to send these Puget Sound–area kids to summer camp. On Sunday, March 4, Ms. Barbara passed away surrounded by her family. It was her final wish that people continue her commitment to sending children with neuromuscular disorders to camp, including her grandson Cole, by by making a donation to Camp Promise-West.
